At Rogers Jewelry—Home of the Yogo Sapphire—we are proud to be the oldest jewelry store in Lewistown, Montana. Dr. Edouard Sutter, an optometrist, arrived in Lewistown in 1904 and opened a shop offering eyeglasses, watches, clocks, jewelry, cut glass, painted china, and silverware. A few years later an uncle, Julian, and a son, Clade, joined him and the store was named "Sutter Brothers." In 1917, Edward H. Rogers, a watchmaker, bought the business and changed the name to "Rogers Jewelry." The shop then changed hands in 1955 and 1979, and again in January 1994 when Gene and Jackolyn DeMars purchased the store. They added "Home of the Yogo Sapphire" to the Rogers Jewelry name. Today Rogers Jewelry continues to provide fine jewelry, giftware, and repair service while maintaining the traditions and high standards begun by Edouard Sutter over a century ago.
