Compassionate and experienced, Dr. Gilliard has eight years experience providing mental health therapy to children and families.
She believes that all children can learn and that all children have the right to develop to their maximum potential.
Thus her passion is supporting the development of young children through individual play therapy and family therapy.
She uses systems and narrative approaches and a variety of play therapy techniques including sand play therapy and art therapy.
A creative and talented play therapist, she has earned state recognition for her work with preschoolers. As well, she is trained in the Watch, Wait, and Wonder technique which is designed to support attachments between primary caregivers and infants. As well, she is a Professor of Early Childhood Education at The University of Montana Western.
She practices in Butte, Montana, and is co-founder of the Child and Family Development Institute where she provides mental health therapy and consulting services.
