All West Veterinary Hospital, established in 1984, is conveniently located on Love Lane, just off Huffine Lane. We are a full-service hospital providing veterinary care to dogs, cats, horses, mules, birds, pocket pets, cows, goats, sheep; all creatures great and small. We also offer a full-service boarding facility.
We are family owned and operated with a friendly, competent, and highly trained staff.

All West Veterinary Hospital offers the services of six veterinarians and fourteen support staff.We provide excellent, full service veterinary care six days a week. Our equine veterinarians are also available outside of regular business hours for emergencies. Small animal and exotic patients are directed to the Pet Emergency and Trauma Service (PETS) 406-587-3996, cooperatively owned and staffed by local veterinarians as an after hours emergency clinic.

We welcome you to our new, state-of-the-art facility where you will receive the most high quality, personalized, compassionate patient care. Whether a horse, mule, dog, cat, bird or something more exotic is part of your family, were here to ensure your pet remains healthy for years to come.

Life history: Fourth generation Gallatin Valley native. Dr. Cook is proud of his two sons: Jacy, a veterinarian at All West and Jeff, a commercial helicopter pilot. Gary met Joan, his wife, while working as the state vet in Nevada. The Cooks riding horses, driving a team of horses, elk hunting, helicopter rides, travel and precious time with their two grandsons, Hayden and Henry.

Areas of interest: Equine medicine, reproduction and surgery. Canine orthopedic surgery.

Life history: Born and raised in Gallatin Valley-- fifth generation.Dr. Cook met and married a Washington state girl at vet school. Both Karyn and Jacy returned to Bozeman to work with his father, Gary.Theyare raising two boys, with whom they love to share the outdoors. Jacyis an avid hunter, fisherman and snow skier.

Areas of interest: Small animal surgery and medicine, pocket pets/exotics, raptors.

Life history: Born in Ellensburg, WA. Dr. Cook worked with a family of chimpanzees who use sign language to communicate. That led to working at a zoo in Indonesia. Through vet school, Karyn also worked at the Woodland Park Zoo, St. Louis Zoo, and the Bronx Zoo. At the end of vet school, she met Jacy who brought her to Montana. They have two very busy boys and too many pets to name. They all fish and ski together. Karyn also likes to quilt, crochet, and work for the Spay Neuter Task Force and Montana Raptor Conservation Center.

Life history: Dr. Butterfield was born and raised on a ranch in north central Idaho (Potlatch). He and his wife, Kacy, have three children-- Tanner, Bryce, and Curtis. The family enjoys spending time together skiing, horseback riding, hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.

Areas of interest: Small animals including exotic pets-birds, reptiles, rabbits and rodents,behavior problems and chemotherapy (cancer treatment).On the Board of Directors for the Montana Raptor Conservation Center and PETS emergency clinic.

Life history: Native to Minnesota and Wisconsin and relocated to Montana in 2003. Summer pursuits include backpacking, hiking, rock climbing and flyfishing. Winter pursuits include cross country skiiing, quilting and traveling abroad. Animal family includes 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, 2 turtles, and 1 hamster.

Life history: Dr. Trey grew up in Speedway, IN. After vet school, she began dairy practice in Wisconsin. She took a veterinary break and spent 1985 to 1987 in mainland China as missionary teaching English and studying Chinese. For 20 years, she has been married to husband, Paul, and in 2004 they moved from Nashville, TN to Bozeman. Their family is rounded out by two sons, Seth and Pierce, two Border Collies, a cat, a horse, and lots of fish. Dr. Trey enjoys hiking, swimming, horseback riding, backpacking, sailing, sleeping, church activities and "lots of other stuff." Too many hobbies, not enough time!
