Our comfortable Montana climate is suprisingly mild for a city in the northern United States. We enjoy low humidity levels all year round. The average annual precipitation is around 15 inches, 52% of which falls during growing season. The south central Montana mountains to the west provide warm winds which often melts snow and bring spring-like comfortable temperatures in the midst of March. We are, as some say, the "Banana Belt" of Montana! Spring is our wet season, bringing plenty of growth to Montana farms and ranches. Summer is just truly delightful! Low humidity allows us to bask in warm daytime temps and enjoy refreshing cool evening breezes. Fall is like our summer, but with cooler fluxuations. Because we are in a dryer part of the country, the farmer or horse enthusiast would require more acreage unless it's irrigated land. When irrigated, usually land for sale is more expensive in Montana.
